Donald Trump loves to be the centre of attention, but God forbid it be for the wrong reasons. He has shown us time and time again that he has absolutely no problem taking credit for things he had nothing to do with and Thursday he reminds us it also goes the other way.
According to BR thursday, Trump tweeted out a quote from Reverend Franklin Graham clearly trying to quell rumors about his religious observances, and shift popular opinion about him.
The quote reads:
”It wasn’t Donald Trump that divided this country, this country has been divided for a long time!” Stated today by Reverend Franklin Graham.’
“It wasn’t Donald Trump that divided this country, this country has been divided for a long time!” Stated today by Reverend Franklin Graham.

Trump would love for voters to believe that this is true now, except he did contribute largely to the division of America today. Trump gave a voice to the racists, xenophobes and misogynists, validated their opinions and brought them together on a large and organized scale. Donald Trump exploited the fear of Americans of diversity and of terror and further seeded that fear as hatred for his own gain.
Donald Trump slammed immigrants and permits Americans to blame them for the lack of adequate employment. He stated that the Mexican immigrants in the United States were “not [Mexico’s] best” and elaborated by insinuating that they are criminals and/or rapists. He proposed creating a registry for Muslims.
Not even to mention how much he contributed to the ‘birther’ hell that Republicans put Obama through. From March 2011 to as recently as May 2014, Donald Trump was an active and vocal thorn in the President’s side. He asserted over and over and everywhere that Obama was not a ‘proper’ American, was not born in Hawaii as claimed and should not be President. All of which was, of course, proven to be false, but it speaks to a larger truth about Trump.
His policies, methods and plans as well are so extreme and outrageous that he is inaccessible to most Democrats and Independents. The things that he stands for contrast with many of their core values, beliefs and priorities so deeply that it furthers the political rift.
If he can’t see how his rhetoric furthered division in America…it’s clear that he has any brains at all.
