Trump Says He Kept Ford Plant In Kentucky. It Was A Union Contract

Another lie fabricated to make him look good. The man has been lying through his campaign and he continues to lie now. Good for Ford for sticking to the contract and for not attempting to move elsewhere. Ford owes the American people for bailing them out and if President Obama had not insisted on helping them in the first place, they would be toast. TRUMP IS A LIAR. Deny his electoral college votes and let him pay for crimes pending.

President-elect Donald Trump is not even in office yet and he is already taking credit for things he did not do.

According to OD In the early evening hours of Nov. 17, Trump triumphantly tweeted that he alone had saved thousands of jobs in Kentucky at a Ford plant by talking the Chairman of Ford, Bill Ford, out of closing an entire Ford factory and sending all of the jobs to Mexico. The only problem is Trump had absolutely nothing to do with the auto company from making the decision, but since when have facts or reality stopped Trump from beating his chest? He tweeted:

Today, we confirmed with the President-elect that our small Lincoln utility vehicle made at the Louisville Assembly Plant will stay in Kentucky. We are encouraged that President-elect Trump and the new Congress will pursue policies that will improve U.S. competitiveness and make it possible to keep production of this vehicle here in the United States.

According to The Washington Post, Ford had no intentions of shutting down its entire Kentucky plant. They did, however, plan to move a single vehicle’s production, the Lincoln MKC, out of Kentucky for the mere reason that the Lincoln MKC is so popular that the Kentucky plant was having difficulty keeping up with consumer demand. This point was confirmed by a Ford union official, Jimmy Settles, who said, “Whatever happens in Louisville, it will not lose employment. They cannot make enough Escapes.”

The true hero of this story is the union, whose latest contract negotiation kept two plants open, created 8,500 jobs, and promised $9 billion in investment in American auto plants.

This is not the first incident of Trump claiming he influenced Ford’s decision-making. A little over a year ago in October Trump said his “constant badgering” at his rallies forced Ford to construct a new facility in Ohio instead of Mexico. However, Ford followed through with their original plans, which had been years in the making, to build a $2.5 billion facility in Mexico.

Naturally, Trump remained mum on this point. None of the actual facts relating to either of the lies by Trump matter to his supporters who avail him as their savior while not realizing he is The Pied Piper of Hamelin leading them like rats to a river. If this is how Trump is behaving before he has been sworn in, just imagine what he will say and do once he has command of the bully pulpit.
